How to get there

Old Soles Collective, a group of young theatre artists from across canada, have been in residence for the past 6 weeks as the 2026 Theatre on the Ridge oRidginators. The oRidginator Lab is the education and creative development cohort for each summer and this year Old Soles Collective have become part of the community on The Ridge as instructors, performers (God Save The Sodomites) and creatives, as this is a play development presentation: Or The Whale.

Have a whale of a time with Starbuck and Ishmael as they follow their Captain on a mythic quest to confront the whale. We hope to see you there for this first look at two new Canadian

productions!

Blackstock United Cultural Centre

The Blackstock Nestleton United Church, a longstanding community hub, closed earlier this year. Theatre on the Ridge wants to transform the property into the Blackstock United Cultural Centre. The creation of the Blackstock United Cultural Centre will see Theatre on the Ridge continue the delivery of its mandate of enriching lives through people, performances, programs and partnerships and by bringing people together across generations, interests and experiences. We are now seeking the community’s support, from donations to major gifts, to realize this transformative opportunity.


Supporting the Blackstock United Cultural Centre, through a large or small donation, is a rare opportunity to preserve a gathering place and create a new cultural space for North Durham. Donations of $500 or greater will be recognized on our donation wall in the main foyer of the centre.
